Alab targets redemption

Game Today (Baliwag Star Arena, Bulacan) 8 p.m. – Alab Pilipinas vs Kaohsiung

Alab Pilipinas tries to redeem itself from dropping last week’s opening assignment when it faces the Kaohsiung Truth today in the ASEAN Basketball League at the Baliwag Star Arena in Baliwag, Bulacan.

The Bobby Ray Parks-led Alab side takes on the winless Truth at 8 p.m. with their eyes set on barging into the win column after falling to the Singapore Slingers, 71-66, at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.

Parks was impressive in his ABL debut with 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three assists but the Mac Cuan-coached Alab Pilipinas lost a 10-point third quarter that allowed Singapore to come away with a huge road victory.

Cuan hopes that his team won’t waste another chance against Kaohsiung, which has yet to win in its first two games – losing both times to the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions.
