UE MARKS 18TH MIDYEAR COMMENCEMENT RITE

The latest batch of graduating students of the University of the East, inclusive of 1st Semester, SY 2016-2017 candidates for graduation and summer 2016 graduates, will have their commencement at UE’s 18th Midyear Commencement Rite on Thursday, December 8, 2016, 12:30 p.m., at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) at the CCP Complex in Pasay City.

UE’s latest midyear graduation guest speaker is distinguished UE alumna Patricia N. Arches, whom UE had recognized as among the 2006 UE Diamond Jubilee Achiever-Awardees in Business Management. Ms. Arches was a Summa Cum Laude and Class Valedictorian of the UE College of Business Administration-Manila, from which she earned her BSBA Accounting degree in 1974. She had been a certified public accountant since topping the 1974 CPA licensure examination. She later earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration, with specialized studies in corporate finance and strategic planning, in 1978 from Stanford University.

Arches rose to prominence in the advertising and marketing communications industry as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of McCann WorldGroup Philippines, steering the company as a business conglomerate highly capable of providing clients with wide-ranging services in integrated marketing communications solutions. Under Ms. Arches’ leadership, the company received five citations—Best in Management of Business, Market Performance, Media as well as Community and Industry Leadership—and was named Agency of the Year by 4As (Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies). Pre-graduation Baccalaureate Masses for UE’s latest candidates for graduation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016; for UE Manila’s graduating students, the Mass will be at 8 a.m. at the San Sebastian Church in Manila, while for UE Caloocan’s graduating students, the Mass will be at 2 p.m. at the Multipurpose Hall of the Caloocan Campus’ Dr. Lucio C. Tan Building.
