member of each class, and their continuous interest to be part of the program, year in year out.

Expressing their satisfaction as a student in the MB Junior Journ program, they noted having a sense of responsibility, and related the print deadlines they learned as the same as thing in their school work.

One shared that she learned the importance of accuracy, especially when delivering the news to the reading public. They said they now have a better understanding of the newspaper process, the importance of social media, a much better appreciation of photo journalism, and research without resorting to the internet.

The students also showed confidence in public speaking and at ease in dealing with people. And this was tested during the press conference with Sen. Sonny Angara, which was part of the program. A seven-yearold student asked a a very relevant question on the Bangsamoro. This impressed the senator on the students’ knowledge on current events.

Another resource person in one of the workshops was Manila Police District-Police Community Relations S/Insp. Capt Christian Burgos. A student asked him to share his experience in killing criminals.

This program changed not only the students but also the MB family involved in it. While most of the people in editorial prefer to write rather than speak before a crowd, the experience of speaking before the children seemed to delight the editors . It is often times unpredictable on what will they say or they will do next. But everyone emerged a lot more comfortable and happier.
