Eight reasons why Jeron Teng and Jeanine Tsoi are relationship goals

Love is in the air and it clearly shows on Jeron Teng and Jeanine Tsoi’s faces. La Salle’s Most Valuable Player and the former courtside reporter are the new campus “it” couple and they’re here to share some love advice and inspiration with the youth this Valentine’s Day.

1. Jeron and Jeanine have a lot in common. They both came from De La Salle University, both are from a Chinese family, and both of them are family oriented. My mom would always say follow your heart but follow you brain also,

‘wag puro puso lang,’ said the former courtside reporter. Jeron is known to be very close to his older siblings, especially to his older brother Jeric, as they both share the love of basketball, while Jeanine spreads her love for her siblings on social media.

2. They support each other in the sweetest way. Jeanine would sit front row just to cheer on Jeron during his games. During La Salle’s recent win against Ateneo’s Blue Eagles, she was one of the first to congratulate him. She dashed to him, as the confetti was about to drop, and gave Jeron a big hug. Cameras also captured Jeron giving Jeanine a kiss on the cheek.

“In terms of supporting him with his studies, I try to motivate him by saying ‘Jeron, athlete ka pero estudyante ka

pa rin.’ We try to bring out the best in each other in all aspects of our lives,” says Jeanine.

3. Both Jeron and Jeanine are graduating students. Though being a student, an athlete, courtside reporter, and a model can be a handful, Jeron and Jeanine still manage to keep their relationship in good condition. “Being a student is not easy. It requires a lot of commitment, a lot of time, a lot of hard work, and sacrifice but for me it’s important to have work-life balance that even while you’re studying, you still enjoy because you are only this young once. So you maximize your youth as much as you can,” says the 23-year-old Jeanine.

4. Before they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend, Jeron courted Jeanine for 10 months and they would go on the most romantic dates together. #goals

“When Jeron asked me to be his girlfriend, I did not expect it. I was not prepared. At first he told me ‘We’re going to have my jacket changed at the mall.’ I thought we were just going to the mall, so my clothes were pang mall lang. Then I was surprised when he brought me to a nice restaurant and then after we ate, he decorated the back of his car. He placed a blanket and surrounded it with pictures of us for every month that we dated. He fixed everything; he gave me a bouquet of flowers and included my favorite food as well. It was beautiful,” beams Jeanine.

5. They are the best gift givers. They give each other the sweetest gifts. “More than just material things, she likes effort, so during Christmas, before she went on her Europe trip with her family, I wrote her a letter each day while she was gone. She was gone for 22 days. So I wrote her a letter until we met up in Hong Kong,” says Jeron. When we asked Jeanine about the best gift she had received, this was her reply, “I think the best gift we’ve given each other is the purity of our love because it’s really genuine. For me, the love I give him is properly reciprocated and the love he gives me is paid back as well. The overflowing love for each other, I’ve never experienced that with anyone. So it’s really the best blessing, the best gift for me.” Awww!

6. They see to it that they’re always in good terms. “Whenever we have an argument, we make sure to solve it within the day. We don’t sleep until that issue is solved,” intimates Jeron.

7. They are truly, madly, deeply in love with each other, it's making everyone kilig. “Jeanine and I, as a couple, we are genuinely happy. We don’t try too much because it comes naturally” says Jeron. “Well, Jeron and I would say that each relationship is different, each relationship is special. Our relationship is different because our communication is always present and we assure each other that the love is there. It’s genuine and pure,” says Jeanine.

8. They are the ideal girlfriend and boyfriend. These love birds are making everyone want to be in a relationship as well. “The best thing about being in a relationship is having someone to be with you when you’re down or happy, to celebrate the happy moments and the sad moments, to push you to be a better person. I think that’s super important that you grow together in a relationship,” says Jeanine.
