Fires break out in Malabon, Pasay City
Some 750 families were rendered homeless when fire broke out at a residential community in Malabon City late Wednesday afternoon while five individuals were injured in a Pasay City warehouse blaze.
The Malabon City conflagration, which reached Task Force Bravo, broke out at around 5:30 p.m. reportedly inside a water refilling station at People's Village, Dulong Hernandez in Barangay Catmon.
The fire rapidly spread to nearby houses which were made of highly combustible materials.
No fatalities or injuries were reported, but displaced residents were forced to spend the night at evacuation areas and on the streets.
Estimated damage to property was pegged at 12 million.
The blaze was placed under control 11:52 p.m. and was put out at 12:50 a.m. yesterday.
Last Tuesday, a major fire also broke out in Parola Compound in Tondo, Manila where 3,000 families lost their homes.
Over in Pasay City, the fire that gutted the fourth floor of the new building left three firefighters and two civilians injured.
Pasay City fire marshall Supt. Carlos Duenas said the fire was reported at around 6:24p.m. at the Ramish Trading Corporation facility along A. Arnaiz Avenue in Barangay 108 Zone 12.
Duenas said that the fire was placed under control at about 11:23 p.m. and was declared ‘fire out’ at about10:00 a.m.
An estimated 1500,000 worth of properties were destroyed.
