Rogue cops ‘exiled’ to Basilan; narco generals next – DU30

- By FRED LOBO

PRESIDENT Duterte has personally berated rogue cops in Malacañang and told them: Be reassigned to Basilan or resign.

The Punisher’s verdict for scalawags: Basilan “exile” or go!

*** Duterte rebuked erring Metro Manila policemen at the Malacañang gardens and ordered their deployment to Basilan as punishment for their offenses.

Either accept a hellish two-year reassignment in Basilan or just resign from the service, he said.

*** “All of you here will join Task Force South. I will send you to Basilan. You will live there for two years,” Duterte announced.

“South of the border, the Basilan way,” to paraphrase an old song.

*** “If you survive, you come back here. If you die there, I will not spend to bring you back here. You will be buried there),” Duterte declared.

Sorry bad boys, no more good time in Metro Manila but a harsh life in Basilan. *** Duterte said the policemen, who he criticized for earning extra income through illegal means, must prepare to leave for Basilan in two weeks.

There is a need for more policemen in Mindanao, especially in wartorn Basilan, he said.

*** “Prepare to move out. I’ll give you two weeks from now, 15 days…. If you do not want to go there, go to your superior officer and tell them that you’re going to resign,”

Call it the “DU30 ultimatum” for erring cops.

*** The President warned those who would choose to leave the police force not to return to their crooked ways.

Or they would be hunted down.

*** Duterte said he plans to create a “military battalion” to track down the movements of former rogue policemen and soldiers, saying they have become the “most vicious criminals.”

“If you retire, behave. Look for a decent job, (or else),” he warned.

*** Duterte reprimanded the rogue cops, saying they are resorting to crime just to earn more money because they have chosen to have several mistresses and have an extravagant life.

They should have lived on a cop’s salary, he said.

*** The President lectured to some 226 erring policemen brought to Malacañang by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa and other senior police officials.

They face charges for robbery, extortion, kidnapping, drug involvement and administrative complaints, Dela Rosa said.

*** Dela Rosa said that as instructed by the President, he would do everything to weed out the scalawags in the police force, including launching a public shame campaign.

Yes, shame and fire “Pulis Perapera” and “Pulis Madungis.”

*** He said that the offenses of rogue cops include extortion, dropping a case in exchange for money and other favors, tardiness, showing up only every payday and non-appearance in court duties.

Law enforcers turned law violators. Tsk-tsk!

*** Meanwhile, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) said the fate of police officers or alleged “Narco generals” now depends on President Duterte’s final verdict.

Watch out, Generals. Here comes judgment day.
