- By KRISTEL SATUMBAGA

The Philippine Superliga (PSL) will have a new member in Cocolife Insurance when it stages the PSL Invitational on March 4 at The Arena in San Juan City.

Interestingly, the newest member of the family will be reinforced by former La Salle and Ateneo standouts as Cocolife intends to make its debut doubly special.

Cocolife management is so determined to make an impression right in its maiden campaign as it will have an American as a coach in Airess Padda.

Padda is also the current mentor of the Adamson women’s volleyball squad.

The team as “Asset Managers” will be led by ex-La Salle’s Michele Gumabao, Iris Patrona, Wensh Tiu, and Mika Esperanza.

The other key players of the tea, are former Ateneo players Denden Lazaro and Therese Gaston.

“The chemistry of the team has always been there,” said Joshua Ilayan, one of the team managers. “They have the camaraderie and the rapport. What we’ll be working on would be how we put those skills together.”

“What’s interesting is that we’re going to see these players, who once played against each other, unite in a team,” added Christopher Ponce, also the team manager.

The lineup has yet to be finalized by the end of the collegiate leagues.

Cocolife will join team mainstays F2 Logistics, Cignal, Petron, Generika, and Foton.

Meanwhile, PSL also announced its partnership with Belo Beauty products for the coming season.
