What’s new with Neumann

- By REGINA MAE PARUNGAO Online for now ‘Balik alindog’ project Single? No problem

While many actors have joined the bandwagon of network transfer, it’s not Mark Neumann’s cup of tea.

Mark, who remains under contract with TV5, is positive they have good plans for him so why worry, he pointed out. Yes, it’s the waiting game for him and gladly so.

“May tiwala naman kami sa kanila so we’re just here to wait,” he told Bulletin Entertainment.

The actor revealed his film “Ang Taba Ko Kasi,” a finalist in the 2016 CineFilipino Film Festival, is set for commercial release this April. He also has two movies for theatrical release soon.

While waiting for other projects, Mark is exploring ways to further his knowledge in the industry. In fact, the 22-year-old actor is eyeing the possibility of producing film in the future.

“Actually wala akong background sa filmmaking but siguro I’ll based it na lang with my experiences,” he shared.

Given the chance, Mark wants to collaborate with good friend Alwyn Uytingco and produce something like the action-adventure film “Assassin’s Creed.”

“We wanted to produce something na medyo dark at the same time inspirational,” he explained. “Mga neodrama, war, or martial arts type.”

Mark believes the Internet, particularly social media, is a new platform that he needs to conquer as actor.

The heartthrob knows being active on social media has big advantages.

“Social media is the easiest way to connect with our fans,” Mark maintained. “We use it to update ourselves, madali namin na she-share sa mga tao ’yung mga ginagawa namin.”

However, there’s also a disadvantage to it, as Mark noted.

“The platform is becoming quite dangerous na din,” he noted. “Because of its simplicity, people have easy access to our personal lives.”

Mark, who grew up playing “tagutaguan,” said the advancement of technology has stronger effect especially on kids.

“The kids are more becoming introverts. Instead of playing outside, they just spend their time clicking their iPads or something,” he said.

“The cellphones and the social media are part of our lives but they should never forget the simple things in our life. And I believe it all depends naman siguro kung paano nila ito iha-handle.” Mark usually hits the gym during his free time and he calls it his “Balik Alindog Project.”

“It’s been a lazy year last year, I injured my knee kasi,” said Mark who is into parkour. “I couldn’t exercise because of that but now na okay na ako, I use my free time para makapagexercise.”

Not that he wants to have bulky build.

“Ayoko naman ng sobrang laking katawan. Slim lang parang JeanClaude Van Damme lang. Slim like a fighter’s body,” he said.

Is he looking to pose for a men’s magazine soon?

“Pwede naman,” he said, laughing. “Why not kapag ready na ang body ko? Pero right now madami pang water retention.”

As Valentine’s Day is almost here, we asked Mark for his plans. Answer: Zero. “I have had no date naman ever since. Sa’min kasi, Valentines is known but it doesn’t bother us talaga if you don’t have a date or anything. Chill chill lang,” said he who grew up in Germany. Being single is his choice. “Choice-slash-wala lang talagang dumadating as in,” he said, laughing. “Ako naman I want to do a lot of things so hindi ko pa din siya pina-prioritize. I’m still young.”
