Avalanche in southeastern France kills 4
PARIS (PNA/Xinhua) — An avalanche in Savoie, southeastern French region killed at least four skiers on Monday, a local newspaper reported. An avalanche near Tignes, a ski resort in the French Alps occurred at an altitude of 2,100 meters at 11:00 local time (1000 GMT) sweeping a mountain guide and eight skiers, the daily La Dauphine Libere reported. At least four were killed after the 400-wide avalanche rushed down an off-piste in the ski resort at peak winter holidays.
