Farewell, Uyami

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union — The Philippine National Police’s (PNP) second highest official is now making the rounds of commands to bid goodbye to his comrades barely a month before his retirement on March 19. At this camp, Deputy Director General Francisco Uyami Jr., PNP deputy chief for administration, became sentimental about his assignment in Region 1 as a young officer in 1982. Uyami, also a lawyer, reminded his fellow officers that reform has come and that there is no place in the PNP for corrupt individuals. (Erwin G. Beleo)
