SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique -- More than 200 households in a village in the municipality of Sibalom can now avail of potable water in their homes after the 13.2-million Department of Interior and Local Government-funded (DILG) potable water project has been completed. DILG Antique Program Manager Raymundo D. Palanog said in an interview Tuesday that Barangay Villafont in Sibalom was a recipient of a funding from the Salintubig and Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) of the department. He also said that only a Level 2 water system was proposed to be put up but the recipients in Barangay Villafont decided to have Level 3 where every household will have a water faucet. The villagers also established their Barangay Water and Sanitation Association that would be in charge of collecting a fee of 110 per cubic meter for the water they utilize. The fee will be used for the maintenance and improvement of the water system, which uses gravity. (PNA)
