Business license renewal extended

TACLOBAN CITY – The Sangguniang Panlungsod here has extended the renewal of business licenses from Jan. 21 to Feb. 28 this year. City Councilor Jerry S. Uy said the resolution he sponsored seeking to extend the renewal of business licenses in the city was approved during its regular session last week. Uy, chair of the committee on ways and means, said he sponsored the resolution because of the numerous requests from taxpayers to extend the deadline as the city was hit by heavy rains in mid-January which caused flooding in the down town area and some parts of the city. The flooding affected operations in both private and public offices. With the extension of business renewal, Uy said he is hoping to raise more revenue for the city coffers. (Nestor L. Abrematea)
