Pinoys remain optimistic; FVR anecdotes sell, too
THE Social Weather Stations (SWS) confirmed that Filipinos are very hopeful that their quality of life and the country’s economy will improve this year.

*** Its most recent survey showed a net optimism score of +45 among Filipinos, two points up from the previous quarter’s +43, and it steadied at a “very high” grade, said SWS.
Filipinos are hopeful as per SWS report: Sa Walang Sablay! *** SWS added that the latest poll (conducted Dec. 3-6, 2016, among 1,500 respondents) found 48 percent of Filipinos optimistic that their personal quality of life will be better in the next 12 months.

*** SWS pointed out that the net personal optimism score has been above +40 for the past five quarters.
Apparently Pinoys are consistently feeling “high.”
*** In the same SWS survey, 37 percent of respondents said their lives improved from 12 months ago while 21 percent said their lives have worsened, resulting in a +16 net gainers score. More gainers than losers and still “very high” net optimism, says SWS.
*** SWS noted that net personal optimism remained “very high” across geographical areas – with Mindanao returning to a record high +54, as first recorded in June last year.

*** As to socio-economic classes, highest optimism score was recorded among those in the poorest class E which increased seven points to a record-high +46 in the same survey.
The poor are seeing stars under the DU30 skies. *** SWS added that net gainer scores likewise steadied in “very high” status across geographical areas and socio-economic classes, with Metro Manila having a record-breaking +20 and class ABC with a new record of +30.
The rich have high hopes in “Digong,” too.
*** The survey results show that “President Duterte is on the right track for espousing economic progress and peace and order,” said Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella.

*** SWS also said the same poll showed that 51 percent or five of 10 Filipinos are optimistic that the Philippines’ economy will improve in the next 12 months, with only 8 percent saying it would worsen.
A “very high” net optimism score of +43, and constantly in “very high” level since June last year, SWS concluded.
