Bello orders revamp of DOLE clusters
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has recently revamped the clusters for its senior officials to further streamline its operations following the recent appointment of its two undersecretaries.
In a new administrative order issued last week, Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III assigned Labor Undersecretary Bernard Olalia as the new head of DOLE's human capital development and regional operations cluster.
He will be assisted by Assistant Secretary (Assec) Federico Abuan Jr. in supervising the operations of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), and the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP).
Claro Arellano, another newly appointed undersecretary, will manage the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), International Labor Affairs Bureau (ILAB), and the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) together with Assec Ma. Joji Aragon.
Under Arellano’s legal, legislative, and international affairs cluster, he will be responsible in providing Bello recommendations on legal matters particularly on appealed labor and adjudications cases, labor standards cases, administrative cases, and legislative agenda.
Meanwhile, Undersecretary Joel Maglunsod will continue to manage the labor relations and special concerns cluster, which includes the Bureau of Labor Relations (BLR), Bureau of Working Conditions (BWC), Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC), and the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB).
Maglunsod will be aided by Assec Ma. Gloria Tango in the performance of his duties.
