Sarah G returns to ‘The Voice;’ ElNella paired anew on teleserye
Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo will be back as coach on ABSCBN’s reality TV singing competition “The Voice.” Geronimo is one of the original mentors on the talent show, which first aired in 2013, alongside Lea Salonga, Bamboo Mañalac, and Apl.de.ap.
In an ABS-CBN News article, Geronimo expressed excitement over her return. “Para sa lahat ng mga aspiring singers na katulad ko, pinagdaanan
ko din ’yon, this is for them,” she said.
There are some who doubt her credibility as mentor, but the 28-year-old singer-actress doesn’t mind it. “Everybody is parang nag-scrutinize, ‘Si Sarah, kaya niya ba mag-coach?’ So medyo may, ‘Shucks, kailangan ko patunayan. “Pero this time, ayaw ko masyado ma-pressure doon. Hindi natin matatanggal ’yon. Gusto ko magfocus sa talento talaga ng mga artists.” The Popstar Princess skipped a season of “The Voice” last year, citing her intention to focus more on her personal growth as artist. She was replaced by veteran singer Sharon Cuneta for the third season of “The Voice Kids.”
For the show’s upcoming teen edition, which is a first in Asia, Geronimo will be joining Salonga, Cuneta, and Mañalac on the panel of coaches.
