Splitsville
Robi Domingo and Gretchen Ho have confirmed calling it quits as a couple. The announcement was first made on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on March 1 through a joint statement.
“There is too much happening for the both of us right now, we have to focus on our careers. There is no appropriate time yet for a relationship to grow. But we’re not closing our doors on each other in the future,” their statement read.
Robi reiterated their stand to Bulletin Entertainment and select members of media in an interview the following day.
The two started dating in 2012 and have expressed in interviews then their hope to settle down in the future.
“We’re both so driven with work but we also realize now how important our relationship is. We realize how important we are to each other. So, we’re investing more to the relationship, at the same time, we respect each other’s choices when it comes to each other’s career. So, planning also for the future. Everything falls into place naman. Pinagdadasal naman namin na si Lord na ang bahala, kung kami talaga, then kami talaga. So, I think it’s gonna be a long time pa,” Gretchen said in 2016.
It was early this year when Robi and Gretchen were speculated to have broken up, especially when the two no longer post photos of them together. They are both busy with their hosting jobs. Robi is one of the hosts of “Pinoy Big Brother” and “ASAP,” while Gretchen hosts “Umagang Kay Ganda” and “Chinoy TV.”
Their statement also clarified that “there’s no third party.”
Prior the confirmation of their breakup, Robi was romantically linked to former 2NE1 member Sandara Park. The K-pop star squashed the rumors, saying they are just friends. They have known each other for a long time and they meet during their visits to each other’s countries.
After the announcement of their split, Gretchen took to Twitter and posted a biblical quote captioned “Tiwala.”
