CAMP GEN. OLA, Legazpi City — Six people were killed and three others injured when a trailer truck loaded with steel sheets ran over a motorcycle and then crashed into a residential area in Tabaco City, Albay, last Sunday afternoon.

Chief Inspector Arthur Gomez, chief of the Investigation Division and spokesman of the Albay Police Office (PPO), said the accident involving the trailer truck, coming from Ligao City, happened at 2:30 p.m. Sunday along the highway in Barangay Quinastillojan, Tabaco City.

Gomez identified those killed as Albert B. Baroga and Jasmine H. Boringot, both residents of Malinao, Albay; Orlando B. Campo, 49, of Naga City, Camarines Sur; Rommel M. Nantes, 27, and James L. Romero, both of Camalig, Albay; and a minor identified only as “Clark.”

He said three of those killed were occupants of the truck – Campo, who was the driver; and Nantes and Romero, who were the truck helpers.

The other three fatalities – Baroga, Boringot, and six-year-old Clark – were the ones on the motorcycle. They were all declared dead on arrival (DOA) at the Ziga Memorial Hospital.

Meanwhile, the truck plowed a residence in Purok 1, Barangay Quinastillojan, where Jason A. Bonganay, 28; Daniel S. Bonganay, 57; and Jeffrey A. Bonganay, 32, were injured.

Gomez said the accident is still under investigation as none of the motorists involved survived to tell their story.
