‘Basag Kotse’ strikes in Laguna

STA. ROSA CITY, Laguna — The “Basag Kotse” robbery syndicate struck in Barangay Tagapo, here, Sunday night, looting up to R300,000 worth of cash and valuables from the parked Toyota Fortuner of a Department of Environmen­t and Natural Resources (DENR) employee. Police said the vehicle owned by Wilfredo R. Rafanan, 62, of 56 Flicker Street, Pacita Complex 2, Barangay San Vicente, San Pedro, this province, was parked at a mall here when the security noticed at 7:30 p.m. that the front passenger side window was broken. Rafanan said his Louis Vuitton bag, HP laptap bag, and another black bag were already missing. They contained his vehicle’s registrati­on copy, R4,000 and R190,000 cash, and R7,000; an Impedance .45-caliber pistol; a Rock Ultra .45-cal. pistol; and an HP laptop. (Danny J. Estacio)
