Fisherman rescued

STA. CRUZ, Ilocos Sur — Local fishermen have rescued a fellow fisherman earlier reported missing off Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur last Saturday. The rescue of Alfonzo Mendoza Cortez, 49, of Barangay Lucapon North, Sta. Cruz, Zambales, happened four days after he went missing in a fishing venture at the West Philippine Sea. Cortez’s motor banca which had run out of fuel was spotted floating aimlessly by fishermen Benito Alparo and Marcial Alparo, both of Barangay Dili, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
