Cops nab 3 for drugs, another 3 for robbery

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Sunday announced the arrest of three persons for drug possession, another three persons for robbery and theft, and one for stabbing in operations conducted during the Holy Week.

QCPD director Police Chief Superinten­dent Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said Novaliches Police Station 4 operatives arrested Rene Balisalis, 50, of Barangay San Bartolome, Novaliches, and Frederick Rosal, 26, of Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, following a drug bust in front of Starsia Apartelle in San Bartolome on Thursday night.

Confiscate­d from them was one sachet of shabu.

The Kamuning Police Station 10 arrested Jonell Doroño, 31, of Barangay Bagong Pag-asa in the alley of Area D, NIA Rd., Barangay Pinyahan at about 9 p.m., Friday. Seized from him was a sachet of shabu.

At about 6 p.m. Thursday, Jay-r Donato of Barangay Laging Handa was waiting for a ride on Scout Santiago St., corner Don Alejandro Roces, Barangay Obrero, when Elbert Ramos, 27, of Barangay 128, Balut, Tondo, Manila, grabbed his cellphone.

Donato sought assistance at the Kamuning PS-10 and officers later arrested the suspect and recovered the stolen phone.

A patrol from the Batasan Police Station arrested Hernani Perez, 32, of Barangay Batasan Hills, after he was caught stealing the bag of a tricycle co-passenger.

Rosalito Alfon, 58, of Barangay Batasan Hills, was also arrested for stabbing Julius Pama at about 3:55 p.m., Thursday in Sitio Uno Kaliwa, Barangay Bataan Hills. Both were under influence of liquor and had heated argument.

Alfon stabbed Pama in the back and fled. Alfon was arrested the same day.

The drug suspects were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while appropriat­e charges were prepared against the other suspects.
