3 killed in Bulacan anti-drug operations

CAMP GENERAL ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Three drug suspects were killed in separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Norzagaray and Hagonoy yesterday and Tuesday night.

Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr., acting Bulacan provincial police director, said Ryan Gallino alias “Ryan” and Marlon Bertulfo were shot dead in an operation in Norzagaray Tuesday night while Mandy John Vier San Jose was neutralize­d in Hagonoy yesterday.

Chief Insp. Restituto E. Granil, Hagonoy police chief, reported that at around 12:15 a.m. yesterday, an antiillega­l drugs operation was carried in Barangay San Agustin.

San Jose and a cohort were about to finalize the sale of shabu to an undercover police officer when they sensed the operation.

He allegedly pulled out a gun and tried to fire at the buyer and responding backup police officers, who, however, overpowere­d and shot San Jose dead.

The still unidentifi­ed cohort of San Jose made good his escape aboard a motorcycle.

Recovered from the scene were a loaded .38 caliber revolver, various ammunition and tghree sachets of shabu.

Meantime, Norzagaray police chief Supt. Rizalino A. Andaya in his report to Caramat, said that Gallino and Bertulfo were busted in a drug sting conducted by the local police, in coordinati­on with the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency (PDEA) at around 11:30p.m. in Barangay Minuyan.

The suspects, according to the police, were shot dead when they tried to shoot the undercover agent and other lawmen who served as backup.

Recovered at the scene were two .38 caliber revolvers, five sachets shabu, fired cartridges and ammunition.
