PCCR to grant tuition discounts to dependents of BFP-NCR personnel
Metro Manila firefighters, their qualified children and dependents will be granted tuition discounts if they choose to pursue tertiary level studies at the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR).
Under the agreement betwen the Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region (BFP-NCR) and PCCR, tuition discounts shall be given to at least 50 percent of BFP-NCR personnel and their children who will be enrolling at PCCR.
“Education is a passport to more opportunities in life and we are offering this gift to our firemen and women who have given their all in the name of public service. In a way, this agreement is our way of appreciating their hard work, dedication and service,” Interior and Local Government Officer-in-Charge Catalino Cuy said.
BFP-NCR, for its part, will accommodate graduating criminology students of PCCR to undergo on-the-job training within its office, and make available reference materials as well as resource speakers during the course of the training.
The principal signatories to the memorandum of agreement were BFP-NCR Director F/Sr. Supt. Wilberto Rico Neil Ang Kwan Tiu, Philippine College of Criminology President and Chairman of the Board Maria Cecilia Bautista-Lim.
“I laud the BFP-NCR for forging a partnership with PCCR as much as we welcome this opportunity to help PCCR students to become future public safety officers,” Cuy said.
The agreement will take effect immediately and shall remain in force for five years or until 2022.
The PCCR is an institution offering courses like Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Master of Science in Criminology and PhD on Criminology.
