S Maison: Upscale, curated retail space

- S Maison’s dome lounge chairs give one the feeling of being inside a shell.

There is much to discover at S Maison, a unique lifestyle center which opened with the SM group’s newest luxury hotel, Conrad Manila, at the heart of the Mall of Asia complex.

An upscale and well-curated retail podium housing pioneering dining concepts, branded retail and wellappoin­ted services, it is SM Prime’s 62nd supermall.

Located within Conrad Manila’s first two floors, S Maison’s design by French company Malherbe complement­s the water theme architectu­re of Conrad Manila whose silhouette is like that of a luxury liner docked on the port.

The interiors of the 25,534-sqm mall were drawn from the traditiona­l romantic idea of the Philippine­s as the “Pearl of the Orient.”

In fact, lustrous surface treatments inside the mall give one the feeling of being inside an iridescent shell. Dappled light streams from cutwork patterns of abstract leaves and twigs on the ceiling.

Large, organic-shape black pearls add luster to the lobby area. Seating areas on pods resemble pearls out of a clam.

There is also much to discover in S Maison’s curated mix of stores and restaurant­s that bring uniqueness to the mall’s repertoire. The voluminous space in the lobby accommodat­es the trend in popup stores, cute kiosks and showroom and exhibit spaces, all of which provide visitors something out of the ordinary.

The new upscale mall has three state-of-the-art Director’s Club cinemas, each with a 38-seater capacity.
