Nadine Lustre shrugs off the online storm that came on the heels of her seemingly vague statement addressing allegations she has moved in with boyfriend James Reid.

I’m in-touch with myself and I know all my flaws and I accept them. I’m very confident. I don’t let anything pull me down.

Nadine Lustre shrugs off the online storm that came on the heels of her seemingly vague statement addressing allegations she has moved in with boyfriend James Reid.

“It’s not the first time I’ve heard about this. I’m neither confirming nor denying (it), it’s 2017. If it’s true, so what? There are younger couples who do that, it’s normal na,” she was quoted to have said in an ABS-CBN News article. When asked about it by Bulletin

Entertainment and other member of media at a press conference a few days later, the 23-year-old actress said the controversy has not affected her. “Tuloy naman ’yung buhay,” she said. “Normal naman po ’yun talaga na hindi mo naman mapi-please lahat. And as for me naman po, hindi ako nagpi-filter ng mga isasagot ko kasi, bakit naman po ako magsisinungaling, ’di ba?” She added: “So, parang ganito po ako eh... basta nasabi ko na po ’yung dapat kong sabihin the last time. I-leave na po natin sa ganu’n. Kasi ’yung mga bagay na po na ’yan, parang ’di naman na po kailangan i-broadcast or sabihin pa sa iba. Parang sa amin na lang po

’yun, ganu’n po.”

Nadine has since decided to turn off the comment section on her Instagram account.

Is her family bothered by the hullabaloo?

“’Yung parents ko naman po and relatives, they know me naman talaga. I don’t hide anything from them, so basta sila, ‘Okay ka, okay kami.’”

Asked if she and James are already thinking of settling down, she said, “Not until ma-achieve ko na ang lahat ng gusto ko.”

Being sexy

The actress is grateful to have been named sexiest celebrity this year by a men’s magazine.

She believes it goes beyond her physical attributes, noting, “I feel sexy because I’m in-touch with myself and I know all my flaws and I accept them. I’m very confident. I don’t let anything pull me down.”

Asked about her definition of sexy, she said, “Happiness.” “Kasi you can see it naman in the eyes ’di ba. Kahit photo lang ’yan kita mo pa rin ’yun eh.” She added, “Pwede rin confidence kasi sexy for me talaga is confidence and being in-touch with yourself and being self-confident.”

Back on track

Nadine will release her solo album later this year. “We’re still working on the music,” she said. “It’s hard (kasi) ako, for example, I love music so ang dami kong genre na gusto. But then we have to figure out kung paano ’yun mababalanse sa album, so we’re still working on it,” she said. The singer-turnedactress was an original member of the allfemale singing group Pop Girls. In 2014, she released her eponymous debut album with the singles “Para-paraan,” “Paligoy-ligoy,” “No Erase,” “Bahala Na,” and “Hanap-hanap.” Asked if she listens to her old songs, Nadine admitted, “I do, siyempre. It’s a piece of me, eh. It’s my work.” Though seemingly adept in pop, the young singer revealed she doesn’t have a specific genre as favorite.

Into gadgets

Nadine is an avid techie, mentioning her cellphone and camera are among things she can’t live without.

Her love for photography started back in her teens. “I guess it goes back with Tumblr,

meron du’n aspiring photographers, mga blogs and all so na-inspire lang

ako na what if ganito ’yung photos ko, mga memories ko so everyone could see it din para ma inspire rin sila,” she said.

Nadine’s favorite subjects are sceneries and this is why she hopes to visit Japan again.

“But then siguro hindi na sa city, para mas makita ko ’yung culture ng Japan,” she maintained. “And gusto ko rin actually ’yung Egypt puntahan kasi ’yung culture very different din.”

Nadine is happy to have recently renewed her contract with Sony as ambassador.

According to Sony Philippines Managing Director, Nobuyoshi Otake, the actress’ dynamic personality and innate love for music and photography strongly resonates with their target market.

“Having someone like Nadine as our endorser has helped us connect with a new breed of customers and generate significant growth for our Personal Audio and Digital Imaging categories. We are ecstatic to have her in the Sony family once again.”
