NPA arms cache raided

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Security forces seized over the weekend an arms cache reportedly owned by New People’s Army rebels in a remote village in Malita, Davao Occidental. Lt.Col. Marion Angcao of the 73rd Infantry Battalion said an NPA member, who had earlier surrendered to the military, led soldiers to a rebel hideout in Barangay Pangaleon, Malita where the high-powered firearms were recovered. The recovered firearms included an M-16 Armalite rifle, two carbine rifles, an M-203 grenade launcher, and a Springfield Garand rifle. (Joseph Jubelag)
