KIDAPAWAN CITY – At least 20 high-risk inmates from the North Cotabato District Jail (NCDJ) here, including those facing kidnapping and murder charges in relation to bombing incidents, were transferred on Monday to a bigger and more secured jail in General Santos City, a report from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said.

One of those transferred, reports said, was suspected bomber Commander Kule Mamagong whose real name is Molis Tashin.

Tashin was allegedly a member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), who was tagged as the mastermind in several bombing incidents in Region 12.

He was arrested in Carmen, North Cotabato in 2007 and charged with multiple murder and frustrated murder in connection with the bombing incidents in 2007 in Makilala, North Cotabato and Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat, that killed six people and injured 36 others.

The transfer came hours after personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), elements of the Army’s 602nd Infantry Brigade, and operatives of Cotabato Police Provincial Office (CPPO), conducted greyhound operations, dubbed as “Oplan Galugad,” inside the provincial jail.

‘Oplan Galugad’ yielded 45 assorted cellular phones; 69 sharp object like knives and ice picks; and an electrical circuit used to manufacture an improvised explosive device.
