Classes suspended in some private schools

Some private schools have followed suit after the Malacañang announced the suspension of classes in all public schools, including State Colleges and Universiti­es (SUCs), as well as work in the executive branch of government today.

In Metro Manila, among the private schools that announced suspension of classes include Angelicum College and Lourdes School in Quezon City; Colegio de San Juan de Letran, National Teachers College, San Beda College, San Sebastian College-Recoletos, St. Scholastic­a's College, University of Santo Tomas, and La Consolacio­n College in Manila; Colegio San Agustin-Makati; De La Salle Santiago Zobel School in Muntinlupa; Manila Tytana Colleges in Pasay; Mapua University in Intramuros, Manila, and Makati; St. James Academy in Malabon; and St. Paul College in Pasig.

St. Stephen’s High School and Tiong Se Academy, both in Manila, also announced the suspension of classes.

Likewise, all private schools in Davao City have been suspended upon the order of Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio.

Meanwhile, the Ateneo de Manila University will hold regular classes today.

In a memorandum, dated September 19 and signed by Ateneo de Manila University Vice President for Loyola Schools Maria Luz Vilches, it was announced that “classes and activities” in Loyola schools “will go ahead as scheduled.”
