C. Luzon top cop to media: Join actual drug operations

- By FRANCO G. REGALA

CAMP JULIAN OLIVAS, Pampanga – Central Luzon police director Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus ordered all operating units in the region to comply with the order of President Duterte to allow members of the media to observe and cover actual anti-illegal drugs operations.

Corpus said the directive will ensure that anti-illegal drug operations to be carried out by the Central Luzon police always follow the mandate to protect and serve the citizens, and as well prevent possible human rights violations.

He added that he would not tolerate wrongdoings and irregularities.

President Duterte earlier said members of the media should observe and join anti-illegal drug operations to subdue persistent insinuations that operating law enforcers were behind the unexplained killing of drug suspects.

The PRO3 director, meanwhile, disclosed that 453 former drug users and dependents have completed the drug rehabilitation program in Capas, Tarlac, recently.

In his speech during the graduation ceremony, Corpus advised the graduates to move on and improve their lives.

Capas Mayor Rey Catacutan also encouraged the new graduates not to return to their old routines and live a normal, productive life with their families.

According to Catacutan , the graduates belonged to the third batch who completed the six months community service program who may be hired in various construction sites in Clark Freeport.
