- By DANNY J. ESTACIO

TALISAY, Batangas — An armed group that abducted two people, shot them and left them for dead on the roadside in Barangay Banga, here, are now being hunted by police after one of the “salvage” victims survived to tell all.

Senior Inspector Emil Mendoza, Talisay chief of police, identified the victims as Ali Guinar, 22, married, a construction worker and resident of Dasmariñas City, Cavite; and an alias “Cyana,” 20, of Las Piñas City.

The two were abducted around 4:30 a.m. last Thursday by six people and hauled into a car where they were hogtied, and driven towards Tagaytay City.

Somewhere along the TalisayTagaytay Road, the car stopped and the victims were shot while their mouths were taped and their hands and feet tied together. The car drove away in the direction of Tagaytay, leaving both victims for dead on the roadside.

Mendoza said his men found the bodies at daybreak and noticed that Guinar was still alive.

Homicide investigators said they found eight bullet casings for a .45caliber gun at the crime scene.

Guinar was rushed by responding police to the St. Andrew Hospital for medical attention.

Yesterday, Mendoza said Guinar identified the perpetrators of the crime as Janna Mao, alias “Pepay;” Hosen Decampong; Alinor Decampong; a certain “Hilda,” an alias “Russel;” and one “John Doe.”

Guinar told probers that he and Cyana were abducted at gunpoint by the group because they were made out as “police assets.”

A source from the Talisay Municipal Police Station (MPS) who declined to be identified said the victims were allegedly responsible for tipping off the activities of a drug suspect earlier neutralized by police.

Mendoza said the case is still under investigation, but murder and frustrated murder charges are already being prepared against the suspects who are now the subjects of a police hunt.
