Banks open during the 3-day ASEAN Summit holidays

Banks will have normal operations during the three-day ASEAN-related holidays this week with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) keeping its clearing and settlement, cash and trading operations open.

In a statement, the Bankers Associatio­n of the Philippine­s assured the public that its member banks will “remain fully operationa­l” during the 31st ASEAN Summit which begins on Monday, November 13, until Wednesday, November 15.

“We request clients to look for announceme­nts or contact their respective banks particular­ly bank branches in the affected areas in the National Capital Region (NCR), Pampanga, and Bulacan for their banking schedule,” it added.

In separate advisories, banks announced their operation schedules during these days.

The country’s largest lender BDO Unibank Inc. said it is business as usual on November 13, 14 and 15, for both branches and electronic banking channels.

“BDO branches will continue to serve the clients and the general public on November 13 to 15, which were earlier declared special non-working days in line with the country's hosting of the ASEAN Summit,” the bank said yesterday. Mall and non mall-based branches will operate on regular banking hours. However BDO Salas branch located in Roxas-Boulevard will be closed on November 13 while the EDSA-POEA
