Kaytitinga, Verdivia Falls – hidden gems of Bulacan
BALIUAG, Bulacan – Kaytitinga and Verdivia Falls in Bulacan have the potential to become popular ecological destinations for tourists and visitors if only the local government would develop these sites.
This was proposed by a group of engineering college students who were left amazed at the beauty and unique freshness of the air wand water in the two hidden wonders of Bulacan.
Kaytitinga Falls can be found in Barangay San Isidro, San Jose Del Monte City.
Anthony Guevarra, 24, of Barangay Pinagbarilan here, said that they enjoyedKaytitinga, which is a three-tieredfalls adorned with a wide variety of flora and fauna.
He noted that Dumagats continue to live in the area, which only showed how the place has been preserved through all these years.
"Tourist would surely enjoy the water from the falls where they could also climb the huge rocks to add to their excitement," he said.
But he did note that development of Kaytitinga should be undertaken while taking into consideration the condition of the indigenous Dumagat tribe in the area, who they said were most welcoming when they paid them a visit.
Aside from Kaytitinga Falls, Guevarra said this group also visited Verdivia falls found in the southern part of Sierra Madre in Barangay Talbak Dona Remedios Trinidad.
They learned from the Dumagats, themselves, that Vedivia could also become a popular ecological tourist attraction in the province for picnics and outings.
Citing accounts of the Dumagats, about 30 years ago, only the locals knew about Verdivia, named as such for its verdant green water.

They are not accessible because there are no street lights and the roads are bad), Guevarra said.
