Shelter plan
DAVAO CITY – The city government is crafting a P40billion shelter plan for its rising number of informal settlers, according to the chair of the city council’s subcommittee on housing. Councilor Rene Elias Lopez, speaking to reporters Tuesday, said that the plan involves the crafting of policies to be implemented from 2018 to 2023. According to Lopez, there was a huge backlog in the number of homes to be allocated for socialized housing. Among the projections in the coming years will be the displacement of around 8,000 households in informal settlements in this city. (Yas D. Ocampo)
