Defending champion La Salle seeks to erase the stigma of its recent loss when it squares off with lowly University of the East today in UAAP women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.

Match is at 4 p.m. with the Lady Spikers hoping to improve their 3-1 winloss card and tighten their grip of the second spot.

La Salle coach Ramil De Jesus expects his stalwarts to regain their bearings after absorbing their first loss against National University last Sunday, 26-24, 19-25, 22-25, 25-17, 16-14.

So determined were De Jesus that the Lady Spikers immediately went to work following that bitter defeat.

La Salle is slated to limit its errors after stumbling with 33 the last time, while toughening up its offense anchored on Majoy Baron and Kim Dy.

Consistent efforts from May Luna, who came off the bench and finished with 12 points the last time, are also being eyed, as well as more variety of plays from setter Michelle Cobb.

UE, for its part, wants nothing but crawl out of the dark cellar after succumbing in its first four matches including its recent 21-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-14 defeat to Ateneo over the weekend.

Shaya Adorador and Mary Ann Mendrez will carry the fight for the Lady Warriors, but the duo needs more help from their teammates to end their losing spell.
