ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — An art exhibit of the various local artists based in the province which is ongoing at the provincial capitol here is not only showcasing the local talents as part of the observance of National Arts Month but also as a cause oriented event for art lovers.

This came as the provincial government opens its doors to some 90 artists to showcase their masterpieces in the exhibit that is made possible through the cooperation of the Antipolo City Culture, Arts, and Tourism Promotions Office, and the Rizal Provincial Tourism Office.

The provincial government said the art exhibition is a way of recognizing the talents of the local artists and at the same time providing financial assistance to the cause of an organization involved in anti-cancer advocacy, as 40 percent of the proceeds of the event will be donated to the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS).

Mayor Casimiro “Junjun” Ynares, III has expressed his appreciation to the artists during the recent opening ceremony, by thanking them for using their talents in helping those who are in need. He also added that the true meaning of art is giving hope that comes from the heart.

The unveiling of the artworks which will be on exhibit until March 18, was witnessed by PCS Board of Trustees Dr. Kelly Salvador and PCS Executive Director, Dr. Rachel Rosario, and local officials here.

The event is organized as part of the nationwide celebration of arts month that carries the theme, “Ani ng Sining Alab ng Sining.”
