Police, Army ink joint internal security plan
CAMP COLONEL RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The area commander of the Army’s Northeastern and Northern Mindanao 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division (4th ID) and Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) chief have signed the joint Internal Security Operations (ISO) campaign plan here on Tuesday.
Maj. Gen. Ronald C. Villanueva, 4th ID chief and Chief Supt. Noli A. Romana, regional director of PRO 13, led the ceremonial signing, witnessed by their respective command group and staff and field unit commanders.
The signing highlighted the roles of the police and army in the conduct of intensified internal security operations.
The joint ISO will ensure public safety against the enemies of the state.
Army’s Brigade and battalion commanders as well as operational control (Opcon) unit commanders were directed by Maj. Gen. Villanueva to follow the joint ISO for a unified approach against terrorists and other lawless elements.
“This ISO operational plan is very vital for unified approach against our enemies,” the 4th ID chief said.
“Our combined counter-insurgency effort is aimed at ensuring public safety and internal security through enhanced coordination and cooperation between the AFP and the PNP,” said Chief Supt. Romana.
The government troops in Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region will be working together to wage more effective anti-insurgency campaigns and foster safer and more peaceful communities for inclusive economic growth. (Mike U. Crismundo)
