La Union PDRRMO chief in apparent suicide

SAN FERNANDO, La Union — The head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) here was found dead inside his office with a gunshot wound in the head yesterday morning.

According to La Union police information officer Chief Insp. Silverio Ordinado Jr., lawyer Bobby Valdriz was found on the floor of his office located in Barangay 2 here, at around 6 a.m.

Initial investigation showed that the death of Valdriz could have been a suicide.

Some members of Valdriz’s staff, who were on-duty at around dawn Sunday, said that Valdriz did not respond to them when they greeted him.

They also said their boss has had difficulty in dealing with problems related to his health.
