Pro-life drive in Eastern Visayas intensified
TACLOBAN CITY — The Archdiocese of Palo and other dioceses in Leyte and Samar will intensify its pro-life campaign through a three-day training program for lay people that started Tuesday at the Tacloban Convention Center.
Fr. Irvy Davy Lajara, Archdiocesan pro-life coordinator, said with the training, the campaign to establish pro-life communities will be intensified with the help of the lay faithful.

Palo Archbishop John F. Du, in his homily during the Mass for the start of the training program, urged the faithful to be advocates of life.
Du said that through the pro-life training program, the faithful can now be advocates for the promotion of life against the culture of death.
Human Life International President Fr. Shenan Boquet enjoined all Catholics to help the church promote the sanctity of human life.
Boquet cited the important role of the faithful in promoting life and the sanctity of marriage.
Participants in the training program come from the Archdiocese of Palo, Dioceses of Calbayog in Samar, Catarman in Northern Samar, Borongan in Eastern Samar, Naval in Biliran, Maasin in Southern Leyte and officials of Knights of Columbus in Leyte.
