Rody at­tends grand­daugh­ter’s San Beda grad­u­a­tion rites

Pres­i­dent Duterte beamed with pride as he at­tended his grand­daugh­ter Is­abelle’s se­nior high grad­u­a­tion rites at the Philip­pine In­ter­na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­ter in Pasay City Thurs­day morn­ing.

Is­abelle, daugh­ter of for­mer Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, grad­u­ated un­der the Hu­man­i­ties and So­cial Sciences strand of San Beda College-Ala­bang.

She shared an In­sta­gram video show­ing her in a red grad­u­a­tion gown seated be­side a smil­ing Pres­i­dent and other fam­ily mem­bers.

“Pres­i­dent Ro­drigo Duterte at­tended the grad­u­a­tion rites of grand­daugh­ter Is­abelle Lovelie Duterte held at the Philip­pine In­ter­na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­ter on Thurs­day, May 17,” the Palace press state­ment read.

“Is­abelle, daugh­ter of for­mer Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, was among the first batch of se­nior high school grad­u­ates of San Beda College Ala­bang,” it added.

Is­abelle’s par­ents Paolo and Lovelie Sangkola-Sumera also at­tended the grad­u­a­tion cer­e­mony.

Mean­time, Vice Pres­i­dent Ma. Leonor “Leni” Ro­bredo left for the United States yes­ter­day to at­tend the grad­u­a­tion of her el­dest daugh­ter, Aika, from Har­vard Uni­ver­sity.

Aika, 30, will grad­u­ate on May 24 at Har­vard’s John F. Kennedy School of Gov­ern­ment in Cam­bridge, Mas­sachusetts as an Ed­ward S. Mason fel­low.

The Vice Pres­i­dent has been look­ing for­ward to her trip to re­unite with her el­dest daugh­ter, who has been in the US for a year for her grad­u­ate stud­ies.

Aika, or Jes­sica Marie, is the el­dest daugh­ter of the Vice Pres­i­dent and the late in­te­rior sec­re­tary Jesse Ro­bredo.

They have two other daugh­ters − Tricia, a med­i­cal stu­dent in Ate­neo, and Jil­lian, an in­com­ing college fresh­man. (with a re­port from Ray­mund F. An­to­nio)
