Rody to C. Luzon barangay captains: Form, activate anti-drug councils
CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga — President Duterte on Tuesday enjoined newly-elected barangay captains in Central Luzon to promptly form and activate a Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) in their communities to further beef up the anti-illegal drugs campaign.
“If Punong Barangays cannot govern their respective villages the way it should be governed, then the municipality, city, province and eventually the country will have to face a serious problem (particularly on illegal drugs),” Duterte stressed to 2,840 newly-elected barangay officials who personally he swore into office.
“You should demonstrate passion and determination to secure the lives of your constituents,” he added.
Duterte likewise urged the barangay captains to work with the national govern- ment in improving the delivery of basic services to the people.
Impressed by the support of the president, Barangay Captain Roberto M. Arcenal, Sr., of Barangay Alas-asin in Mariveles, Bataan said that they will be further motivated and encouraged to sustain their anti - drug and corruption campaigns.
“President Duterte assured us of legal support in our campaign and this will motivate us further to initiate efforts for a more peaceful barangay, nakakatuwa naman si Pres Duterte,” pointed out Arcenal.
