Honest cabbie

-

A taxi driver made a good account of himself after returning a pouch bag containing P50,000, $2,000, credit cards, IDs and an iPhone 8 to his American passenger who had left it in the cab. Manila International Airport (MIA) General Manager Ed Monreal lauded Romnick Espiritu of Peoples Network Transport (PNT) for his admirable act. It was learned that 66-year-old US citizen Belen Zoza Swegler, who arrived at NAIA Terminal 2 from Palawan, took Espiritu’s yellow taxi to Newport, Pasay City on Monday. Espiritu was already on his way back to Terminal 2 when he noticed the black pouch bag left inside his cab so he surrendered it to airport authorities. Later, Swegler got her bag back at Terminal 2 and met with Espiritu, who conveyed her back to Newport City. (Ariel Fernandez)
