It’s an earthquake
A moderately strong earthquake measuring 5.2-magnitude on the Richter scale jolted Southern and Central Luzon, including Metro Manila, around noon yesterday. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) estimated its epicenter at 25 kilometers southwest of Nasugbu, Batangas. The tremor was felt at 12:25 p.m. at Intensity 4 in Lubang and Abra de Ilog, both in Occidental Mindoro. Buco, Talisay, Tumaway and Calatagan in Batangas; Quezon City; Clark, Pampanga; Mandaluyong City; Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Looc and Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro; Malolos, Bulacan; Tagaytay City; Cavite City; and Tanza and Maragondon, Cavite felt the earthquake at Intensity 3. In Manila, it was only felt at Intensity 2 or slight shaking. (Ellalyn B. de Vera)
