Language marker unveiled in Tabuk
TABUK CITY, Kalinga — Senator Loren Legarda hailed over the weekend the recent unveiling of the 4th Language Marker in the country as a tribute to the indigenous languages. The marker, designed and created by installation artist Luis “Junyee” Yee. Jr., was unveiled last June 25 in this city. “These Bantayog ng Wika markers are not merely ornaments or displays but these are symbolisms of our diverse culture that further exemplify our distinct culture and heritage,” said Legarda, noting how many indigenous languages are in danger of extinction because newer generations have chosen to abandon their native speech.
