Try it for yourself

- Subaru vehicles are put through various situations to show off their all-wheel drive and EyeSight technology.

Many car brands talk about the extreme situations their vehicles can thrive in, yet few actually take them there. Yet one of the exceptions to the rule is Subaru. Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc., distributor of Subaru vehicles, recently held a test drive event at Uptown Parade in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig last June 29.

Dubbed, The Subaru Ultimate Test Drive, the event lets customers experience its Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive on a course designed to illustrate Subaru’s Vehicle Dynamics Control, the benefits of the Subaru boxer engine’s low center of gravity, and the advantages of the Forester and XV’s rigid body and high ground clearance with different obstacles.

Subaru’s proprietary EyeSight Driver Assist Technology was also showcased on another course which demonstrated the Pre-Collision Braking System that alerts the driver of an impending collision then applies the brakes to prevent an accident. It was divided into two courses. First was the Pre-Collision Throttle Management demonstration that shows engine output cut off, even upon application of full throttle upon EyeSight’s detection of an obstacle in front of the vehicle. There’s also the Lead Vehicle Start Alert which can alert the driver when EyeSight detects traffic in front of the vehicle has started moving with an audible alert. Adaptive Cruise control, after a minimum distance is set, will follow the speed of traffic ahead of you, even if it’s slower than the speed you set on cruise control.

Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc., invites you to experience The Subaru Ultimate Test Drive when they come to your area. Expect it to arrive at SM Lanang in Davao City on July 20-22 and in Cebu (venue to be announced) on August 24-26.
