Distribution of subsidy fuel cards resumes
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Tuesday resumed the distribution of the Pantawid Pasada fuel cards to jeepney drivers and operators, days after the Board temporarily suspended its distribution due to technical issues.
The LTFRB announced that the distribution of fuel cards for the Pantawid Pasada Program will resume from August 7 to 11, at the Land Transportation Office in Quezon City.
"The distribution will be done regularly thereafter," the Board noted, adding that beneficiaries can now claim their fuel cards.
The LTFRB had announced last Aug. 2 that the distribution of fuel cards will be temporarily suspended, citing "technical issues" encountered by the Land Bank of the Philippines, who was processing the cards.
"We apologize for temporarily suspending the distribution of Pantawid Pasada fuel cards due to a technical issue being encountered by Landbank," LTFRB earlier said.
The distribution of the fuel cards started July 17 to the beneficiaries of the government's Pantawid Pasada Program.
Around 179,000 legitimate jeepney franchise holders nationwide will benefit from the said fuel subsidy program.
Recipients will be given a card containing R5,000 subsidy from July to December to help them cope with increasing pump prices brought by the tax reform law.
Upon claiming the card, the recipients should present an original valid ID, photocopy of the valid ID, one ID picture, and proof of franchise of the operator such as Certificate of Public Convenience, or franchise verification.
