PTT to expand aviation fuel service network in Hong Kong and Macau

-

Thai firm subsidiary PTT Philippines is targeting to expand its aviation fuel service network for Cebu Pacific airline’s Hong Kong and Macau destinations.

“We are looking at Hong Kong-Macau to refuel Cebu Pacific. If negotiations will be successful, it will be by the end of this year. We will need to establish with network of refuelers,” PTT Philippines Trading Corporation General Manager Danilo Alabado said.

These new routes will somehow compensate the tightening of supply being experienced in Japan – primarily on its aviation fuel service to Cebu Pacific in Fukuoka and Kansai airports.

PTT Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Sukanya Seriyothin noted that the company’s investment expansion program will mainly target retail and the aviation segments.

For this year, the company intends to build up its retail network with additional 30 gasoline stations; a rise from its current portfolio of 132 stations.

“We are still concentrating in Luzon market,” Seriyothin said; with some moderate target for Visayas in their five-year expansion blueprint.

Mindanao is another market that the company has been setting its investment sights on for some time, but that is an expansion domain continually being reassessed given security concerns in the country’s southern territory.

And with Café Amazon being an added feature and service offer of PTT, Seriyothin indicated that five more outlets will be added this year from currently at eight.

Aside from its gasoline stations, the Café Amazon chain is also being offered to malls such as SM; as well as a franchising venture for overseas Filipino workers. This coffee-centered venture of PTT is a big hit in Thailand, with its market share reportedly bigger than global giant Starbucks.

And in Cambodia, wherein its coffee industry is still at its infancy phase, Café Amazon has been on its aggressive expansion – that from 100 outlets this year that is seen going up to 200-300 shops in two to three years. (MMV)
