M to upgrade road to Biliran falls
NAVAL, Biliran – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is repairing and concreting the road to Germohenes Waterfalls in this municipality.
David P. Adongay Jr., DPWH district engineer in Biliran, told Manila Bulletin improving the 2.9-kilometer road will cost 1100 million.
Adongay said the project covers the construction of a 100- meter length spillway and the repair of a 60-meter stretch of the road that was washed out by Storm Urduja last year.
The project began last June 3 and was 3-percent accomplished as of June 30. The contractor is Samarinan Construction and Development Corp. and EZJones Construction Inc., a joint venture firm, Adongay said.
Once finished, it will take visitors just 30 minutes to reach the falls. The trek now takes four to five hours.
