Isuzu demonstrates 4x4 capabilities at “Xtreme Xperience” weekend

-

The off-roading capabilities of Isuzu’s vehicles are a wellestablished fact by now, but Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) drove the point home by engaging their customers in a fun and unique way last weekend at SM City Cebu as they successfully rolled out their “Isuzu 4x4 Xtreme Xperience” event at the parking lot of the mall’s north wing.

As a follow-up to the Isuzu 4x4 Action Playground held in Cagayan de Oro last 2017, the Isuzu Xtreme Xperience event expanded further to include more fun and engaging activities for mall-goers, families, current Isuzu owners, and inquisitive customers alike – admission free.

The three-day event was set up with 15 sequential stations dubbed the “Consumer Journey.” As visitors visited each station one after another, they were treated to a variety of games, activities and merchandise. Some highlights included drift karting, photobooths, a kids’ activity area, an all-terrain display, a parts and accessories display, a mod hobbyist exhibit, the My Dream Isuzu Car Corner, and car club meet ups. Visitors also got a chance to view accessorized versions of the D-Max and mu-X and even test drive the new mu-X RZ4E 4x2 AT. Promos and discounts exclusive to the event were offered as well.

The main attraction of the event, however, was the 4x4 Xtreme Xperience Action Ramp — a massive two-story-high steep narrow metal ramp which featured a 40-degree incline and steep departure angles. Visitors got a chance to experience the 3.0-liter 4x4 D-Max’s full offroading capabilities up close and personal as they rode shotgun through the course.

The D-Max’s features were put to the test, including its ability to maintain grip at such a steep angle, holding still as the ramp slowly swung down, maintaining its composure on the steep downward descent, and finally exiting the ramp without its bumper hitting the ground despite the steep angle.

The final evening of the event culminated in a cheerdance competition, the awarding of a fuel economy and highest mileage run, performances by Isuzu ambassadress, TV actress and singer, Maja Salvador, and rock/hiphop group, UrbanDub, and the unveiling of Isuzu Cebu Incorporated’s 20th anniversary logo.

The “Isuzu 4x4 Xtreme Experience” is organized in partnership with Isuzu Philippines Corporation and Isuzu Cebu, Inc., which comprises Isuzu Mandaue, Cebu, Talisay, and Bohol, and will find its way to Iloilo for its next leg on September 21 to 23. The event was sponsored by Pilipinas Shell, Standard Insurance, BPI/MS Insurance Corporation, Hawk Trading, LED Works, JoyRide, Nature’s Spring, and Mapfre.
