Peace camp
BUTUAN CITY – The three-day 2018 Youth Cluster Peace Camp was a huge success where the Army was able to produce 143 youth peace builders in Southern Mindanao, according to First Lt. Jhocell D. Asis, Civil Military Operation (CMO) officer of the 71st Infantry (Kaibigan) Battallion (71st IB). In a statement sent to The Manila Bulletin late Tuesday afternoon, the 71st CMO officer said the new youth peace builders came from the entire Masara Lines in Maco, Compostela Valley (ComVal) province. With this year’s theme “Pakiglambigit sa Kabatan-onan: Enrooting Peacebuilding for an Empowered and Participative Youth in the Grassroots”, the Peace Camp successfully concluded, with a pledge of commitment from the participants to spread peace in their respective communities. One of the highlighted parts of the camp was the “Kultura Night” wherein participants showed their artistic and creative style in dancing, singing, and drama. (Mike U. Crismundo)
