BUTUAN CITY – The three-day 2018 Youth Cluster Peace Camp was a huge success where the Army was able to produce 143 youth peace builders in Southern Mindanao, according to First Lt. Jhocell D. Asis, Civil Military Operation (CMO) officer of the 71st Infantry (Kaibigan) Battallion (71st IB). In a statement sent to The Manila Bulletin late Tuesday afternoon, the 71st CMO officer said the new youth peace builders came from the entire Masara Lines in Maco, Compostela Valley (ComVal) province. With this year’s theme “Pakiglambi­git sa Kabatan-onan: Enrooting Peacebuild­ing for an Empowered and Participat­ive Youth in the Grassroots”, the Peace Camp successful­ly concluded, with a pledge of commitment from the participan­ts to spread peace in their respective communitie­s. One of the highlighte­d parts of the camp was the “Kultura Night” wherein participan­ts showed their artistic and creative style in dancing, singing, and drama. (Mike U. Crismundo)
