TAYTAY, RIZAL — The search for the missing 14-year old girl who reportedly jumped off a bridge here Tuesday night ended after her body was recovered late Wednesday afternoon near the spot where she was last seen alive.

Taytay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (TMDRRMO) officer, Elmer Espiritu confirmed that the body of Estella Marie Joy Liane, earlier identified by the local rescue department as a certain Estela Gliyani, was fished out of Manggahan Floodway in Barangay San Juan, in this municipality around 5:50 p.m. last Wednesday.

At least 18 rescuers from the mu- nicipal government, Barangays San Juan, and San Isidro and members of the Special Operations Group of the Philippine Coast Guard based in Binangonan, were deployed since Tuesday night to look for the missing grade 6 pupil of Exodus Elementary School.

Reports from the TMDDRMO showed that Liane, a resident of Road 8, Nagtinig Street, in Barangay San Juan, was last seen alive shortly before she and two other playmates jumped off the Barkadahan Bridge in Manggahan Floodway here Tuesday night.

Espiritu said Coast Guard personnel started searching for the missing girl since Tuesday night until 4 a.m. Wednesday but emerged empty-handed as the murky water of the Manggahan Floodway hampered rescue efforts.

The search and rescue operation was again resumed early Wednesday afternoon, when her bloated body surfaced.
