PAL to deploy 4 Airbus 350 aircraft to New York, London

Philippine Airlines (PAL) last week took delivery of the fourth of the six Airbus A350s it ordered and will immediatel­y deploy the four planes to service its premium routes to New York (JFK) and London (Heathrow) before the end of this month.

Alternatel­y, each of the four Airbus A350s, one of the newest and most modern generation of aircraft, will fly the New York and the London routes every week, starting October 29, 2018, PAL spokespers­on Cielo Villaluna confirmed.

“When all of our six Airbus A350s are here, it will be the same thing,” she noted. The last two A350s will be delivered early next year.

The A350, with an average list price of $317.4 million each, is the newest flagship of the four-star airline’s fleet, seen to boost its goal of attaining five-stars soon.

The plane uses the latest technology and has a long-range capability of up to 14,800 kilometers and is the quietest twin-aisle aircraft to date, with four times less noise.

The business class cabin features 30 seats on a one-two-one configurat­ion providing direct aisle access. The seats are 23 to 24 inches wide and reclines to a full flat, 78 inches long, with an adjustable air cushion, lumbar massage feature plus additional storage for personal items and power ports.

Its premium economy class features 24 seats on a two-four-two configurat­ion, each capable of reclining up to eight inches and are equipped with leg-rest and footrest, additional front pockets for personal items, bottle holder, reading light and power ports.

The regular economy cabin has 241 seats on a three-three-three configurat­ion.
